FDA Corruption and Abuse

Saturday, June 16th, 2007

Welcome to Health Law and Politics with your host Jonathan Emord.

Jonathan’s guests are Dr. Arthur M. Evangelista, Director of Operation at Public Health and Medical Fraud Research Cooperative and Byron Richards, founder and director of Wellness Resources.

Did you know the FDA is approving drugs that are know to be unsafe?

Dr Evangelista say “I have thoroughly investigated and collected evidence that in fact indicates the FDA is a political “machine”, operating under the indirect influence of politicians, and in direct concert with various agri-chemical and pharmaceutical corporations.

The evidence is clear…as you know several drugs and medical devices claimed initially to be safe have been re-investigated by FDA, and reversed its initial position.”

The Cholesterol War – A Jonathan Emord Podcast

Saturday, June 17th, 2006

drugsJonathan’s guests are Dr. Peter Langsjoen, cardiologist, and Byron J. Richards, Board-Certified Clinical Nutritionist.
Statin Drugs are used to lower cholesterol is this a good thing?

What is Cholesterol? It is a soft, fat-like, waxy substance found in the bloodstream and in all your body’s cells. It’s normal to have cholesterol. It’s an important part of a healthy body because it’s used for producing cell membranes and some hormones, and serves other needed bodily functions.
Some studies have shown that statin drugs increase risk of cancer. The same studies also has shown no reduction in cardio-vascular disease.

The U.S. approved labeling included a specific section titled, ?Myopathy/Rhabdomyolysis?, which states that patients who are of advanced age (65 and older), have hypothyroidism, and/or renal insufficiency should be considered to have a greater risk for developing myopathy while receiving a statin. Physicians are warned to prescribe Crestor with caution in these patients, particularly at higher doses, as the risk of myopathy increases with higher drug levels.

In 17 years of practice in Tyler, Texas, Dr. Peter H. Langsjoen has seen a “frightening increase in heart failure secondary to statin usage.” Says Langsjoen: “Over the past five years, statins have become more potent, are being prescribed in higher doses and are being used with reckless abandon in the elderly and in patients with ‘normal’ cholesterol levels. We are in the midst of a CHF epidemic in the US with a dramatic increase over the past decade.”

Richards’ book is Fight for Your Health: Exposing the FDA’s Betrayal of America exposes FDA and drug company cover-up. Adverse reactions, even deaths, are hidden while dangerous drugs are pushed on Americans, especially children?simply for profit. The FDA is actively attacking health freedom and seeking to eliminate natural health options. It is time for Americans to stand up and be heard. Richards’ website is Wellness Resource
