Where Are the Good Guys?

Saturday, January 28th, 2006

The Federation for American Immigration Reform (FairUS.org) is a group whose focus is the reform of immigration policies in the United States. Chuck Harder, on his TalkStarRadio program, For the People, hosts Field Spokesman for this organization, Rick Oltman in this podcast. Oltman says that allowing illegal immigrants to stay in this country is a slap in the face to those legal immigrants who have waited years, in some cases, to come to this country to work and become a part of this country. He also says that politicians are beginning to take note of what is being said in their districts through such things as talk radio and internet radio. (Of course, we here at Good Politics Radio already know that. Are you interested in saying your piece?click here) Oltman affirms that people need to make a little noise to let their elected officials know who their boss really is- the people that elected them. And about the good guys? Oltman lists two on the national level: Tom Tancredo of CO and JD Hayworth of AZ. But he also says you will find even more good guys on a local level- those who are stepping up to the plate and saying enough is enough. Click here to listen to this podcast.

Under Whose Control

Saturday, January 28th, 2006

Been to a movie recently or listened to a new CD? According to information from IRS figures, 69% of American companies in that field are controlled by foreign corporations. How about the plastic and rubber manufacturing industry? Try 47%. This is some of the information that is shared on Chuck Harder?s show by his guest Thomas Heffner. Heffner is from Economy in Crisis.org and the name of his organization is a pretty strong clue as to what he thinks the state of our economy is. Right off the bat he says that we are losing control and ownership of our country at the rate of 1.2 million dollars a minute through the balance in our trade deficit. And he is in total agreement with Chuck that we are no longer a manufacturing country which is not a good thing. You can click here to listen to this podcast.

Who Holds the Purse Strings?

Wednesday, January 25th, 2006

Who owns America? Not Americans, says the guest of Chuck Harder on the For the People show. The real owners of America are the Chinese and the Saudis. How can this be? It has to do with money- no surprise there. The guest is Dr. Dennis Cuddy who has taught at the university level and has been a consultant to the government. He and Chuck Harder discuss the implications of having foreign governments have such a controlling interest in our country?s affairs. Also on the table, in this podcast, are the Patriot Act and the definition of a domestic terrorist. Cuddy suggests strongly that everyone go on the web and check out section 802 of the Patriot Act. It might very well raise a few eyebrows and make some people a little nervous. You can read some of Cuddy?s articles by going to NewsWithViews.com. You can listen to this podcast by clicking here.

Stagnant Pool

Tuesday, January 24th, 2006

This is Anisha?s ironic story: years ago her family immigrated to the Silicone Valley and worked their way up in the corporations that populate the area. Now, family members have been laid off because many of those same jobs are being sent overseas to, guess where? The same country from which Anisha?s family first came. Anisha Desai is the guest on Chuck Harder?s show, For the People. She is a program Director for the organization United for a Fair Economy (FairEconomy.org). She says that the people from her parent?s native land are better paid than the average person there but still far short of what the workers of the same job in the United States were getting paid. And what of her family members that have been laid off? Well, finding a job of the same caliber is difficult at best. As many Americans know, who have lost jobs, finding any job is difficult. Anisha contends that in America there is an inequality in jobs and less new jobs are being created. This was supposed to have been taken care of by the tax cuts of a few years back but that is not the case. When the tax cuts took effect, they mainly targeted the upper class with the theory that it would be a trickle down effect in the economy. Anisha says that what happened is that the money just pooled in the upper class. What is needed is for the money to be in the hands of those who buy the things necessary for everyday living- in the hands of the middle and lower class people. You can click here to listen to this podcast. And listen closely to find out what the numbers are concerning new jobs- discouraging, to say the least.

Californians on the Move

Saturday, January 21st, 2006

Joe Guzzardi has taught ESL in Lodi, CA since 1988. During that time most of his students have been immigrants, some legally here in the United States and some illegally here. Guzzardi, says Chuck Harder, is an expert in the area of illegal immigration. According to Guzzardi, on Chuck?s For the People show today, there are at least 20 million illegal immigrants in the United States. The show ranges from a discussion of border protection to hospitals to housing to jobs, all areas that are affected by the illegal immigration numbers in this country. Guzzardi, who writes columns for VDare.com, also throws out this interesting figure: about 800,000 people per year move from California to another state; more than that number move into the state every year and many of those are illegal immigrants. California is one of the states that is becoming a state of illegal immigrants. Click here to listen to this podcast.

Good Politics Radio Changes Bloghost to WordPress

Saturday, January 7th, 2006

Over the coming week, Good Politics Radio will be changing the way we post our blogs and podcasts.

Due to the need for more direct control of our blog in content and design, we will be transitioning over the next week into the WordPress format. In our research we have found that the needs of our political broadcasters/podcasters will be better served if content is hosted directly from the Good Politics Radio servers and WordPress will allow us to do that in a format this is easier to use both for our visitors and our stationmasters.

The transition between Blogger.com and WordPress is expected to take about a week, as we have 50+ state pages to work on. It is expected that there will be no actual downtime or interruption of content during the process, but we hope our loyal listeners will bear with us as we make the transition.

General Manager and Founder,

Bonnie Dillabough
