Imagine you are in a space shuttle or perhaps on the international space station. You look down at this orb called earth that is in the shadow of night but it is aglow with lights everywhere. There are no dark corners or masses of land-the world is totally plugged in. This is the vision of Peter Meisen, founder of Global Energy Network Institute (GENI.org). Meisen is the guest of Chuck Harder on this show of “For the People”. His vision is based on a question posed by Buckminster Fuller 30 years ago: “How do we make the world work for 100% of humanity in the shortest possible time through spontaneous cooperation without ecological damage or disadvantage to anyone?” Meisen’s goal is to have a world wide web of electricity and in this hour program he and Chuck discuss how that can be accomplished and what the obstacle might be.
