Good Politics Radio Podcast: Free Trade Area of the Americas
Mr. William Norman Grigg is the presenter in this latest Good Politics Radio Podcast. To listen click here.
William Norman Grigg is a Senior Editor of The New American magazine, a wholly owned subsidiary of the John Birch Society.
This speech, The FTAA Deception, was the February 9, 2004 installment of Review of the News Online, posted on www.jbs.org. Mr. Grigg gives convincing evidence that the proponents of the Free Trade Area of the Americas (FTAA), scheduled for completion in 2005, have world government rather than free trade as their objective.
He shows how the citizens of the United Kingdom were deceived into supporting a similar free trade agreement that turned out to be the first step toward creating a politically united Europe. Quoting leading proponents, such as Mexico's President Vincente Fox, he shows that the FTAA is designed to be the western hemisphere counterpart to the European Union.
Mr. Grigg forecasts the effects of FTAA based on what has happened in the United States since NAFTA was passed. Instead of promoting prosperity, it would decimate our economy and grievously undermine our national independence. He ends this speech on an encouraging note of hope and tells us what each of us can do about this serious threat.
