The ABC's of Fair Trade

First was NAFTA, then CAFTA, and now along comes AFTA. Eric Rubin of Florida Fair Trade (FLFairTrade.org) says that this latest alphabet soup agreement that is in the works may be the final blow to Florida’s sugar industry. AFTA stands for Andean Free Trade Agreement. Right now the Andean part of it refers to Columbia and Ecuador, although other South American countries may be included later. Eric and host Chuck Harder talk about the impact of these various trade agreements on the farmers and manufacturers in the US. Eric says that fair trade is good as long as it is good and fair for everyone- the farmers as well as the big corporations.
